Good simple food makes anyone’s day. For us, a nice dish of minced pork omelette (or pork mince omelette if you’re British) on its own or with a warm bowl of plain rice porridge is enough to make us and our tummies happy. It is such hearty and uncomplicated food that we get cravings for all the time.

Here is our recipe for minced pork omelette that will hopefully be a cheap fix for you. Enjoy! 🙂

Makes 2 servings
Ingredients:
  • 300g minced pork
  • 4 eggs
  • 4 cloves of garlic, minced/crushed
  • 1 tbsp light soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • pepper
Method:
  1. Crack the eggs into a mixing bowl, add the light soy sauce and a pinch of pepper in. Beat the eggs and mix everything.
  2. Mix in the crushed/minced garlic into the minced pork with your hands.
  3. Place the pork into the egg mixture. Mix the pork into the egg by breaking it up into bite-sized chunks with your hands.
  4. In a pan, heat the sesame oil on medium heat. Pour the mixture into the pan. Let it cook for about 3 to 4 minutes, till the base is cooked. Using a spatula, cut the omelette into quarters. Flip every quarter over to cook for a further 3 to 4 minutes, or till the omelette has a firm texture with an overall mix of vibrant golden yellow and slightly brownish colour.
  5. Remove from heat and it is ready to serve.
