Cooking and baking are all about being creative and imaginative in combining ingredients to make something new and yummy. There are endless possibilities, really.

In our recipe below, we combined our recipes for roast lean pork in red wine vinaigrette and honey and home-baked burger buns we made this burger, butty, sandwich or whatever you might like to call it. It is a delightful treat!

Here’s how we went about it:

  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • 1 slice of cheddar cheese
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • Butter for spreading
  1. Cut the burger buns in half and spread the butter onto them. Place a slice of cheese onto one of the halves. Toast the buns in the oven at around 150°C for about 10 to 15 minutes.
  2. Heat the olive oil in a pan and cook the onions till they caramelise.
  3. Slice the pork into thin slices.
  4. Lay the pork onto the buns, place some onions over them, cover the buns and serve!
